Helius Energy (“Helius”) has submitted supplementary documentation to the Secretary of State for approval of its application for a 65MW biomass electricity generating station, bioethanol and biodiesel refineries, to be located at Stallingborough on the Humber estuary. This is expected to complete its application under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 (“s.36”) and follows completion of the statutory consultation process with relevant authorities and conservation bodies. The proposed development of the site includes establishing extensive dedicated and managed wildlife habitats. The s.36 process is expected to be concluded around the end of the year.
John Seed, Managing Director, said:
"We are delighted to have progressed our application for this important sustainable power project to the point where it can be presented to the Secretary of State having dealt with all substantive comments made.”
