Appointment of Non-Executive Director
The Board of Helius Energy plc ("Helius"), a company established to develop, install and operate biomass fired renewable electricity generation plants, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr David Graham Brocksom as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.
David, aged 49, has 15 years of board experience in listed companies across a wide range of businesses. David is currently Finance Director at UK Coal plc, the property and mining company responsible for extracting around 5% of the energy used in the UK to generate electricity, and for over 40,000 acres of land, including significant redevelopment sites.
David has a first degree in Law from Pembroke College, Cambridge University and is a chartered accountant. After qualifying, his early career spanned financial roles in the distribution and services sectors. He was finance director at entertainment technology provider Avesco, which was followed by the CFO role at Pace Micro Technology plc. He then spent a short period as interim commercial director of Principal Hotels Ltd.
Keith Henry, Non-Executive Chairman of Helius Energy plc, said: "David brings experience gained at the highest levels in the property and energy sectors and we are very pleased that he is joining the board of Helius Energy at such an exciting time for the company. Our focus as a company is now moving from developing projects to implementation and operation and, with the opportunities currently in the market for clean generation projects, Helius is well placed to take advantage of this growth."
